Spring understands that demonstrating and measuring results is important. Whilst our programmes support individuals to get back to work, some of our clients will have different goals. At the beginning of the programme, we will agree with you, your case manager and financial sponsor (where appropriate) your goals for the programme. Your progress towards these goals will be measured during the course of the programme. We know that we will be judged by improvements in function, return to work and achieving client and referrer goals.
To be enrolled in a Spring programme the client must first participate in the Spring Screening Evaluation process with a Consultant in Rehabilitation Medicine and a senior physiotherapist. This evaluation explores the client's bio-psychosocial condition to ensure that the Spring programme is appropriate to address effectively their individual needs. We feel strongly that if the client is unlikely to cope with the intensive nature of a Spring programme then the programme may not be suitable for them at that particular time. We are happy to re-consider the individual at a future date.
In addition, the evaluation seeks to confirm personal motivation to respond to the Spring approach.
- Motivation helps clients make a positive start; many of our clients have not been engaged in daily activities for some considerable time
- Motivation also helps clients maintain progress through the programme. We ask a lot from our clients; maintaining motivation will be essential
- Motivation and group work are excellent partners. And, as if that were not enough,
- Motivation makes the journey more fun
The Evaluation Team seeks to identify and understand a client's motivational indicators before admitting him or her to a programme.
